"I started at the Manor Hotel in as a General Assistant, doing a bit of everything during the next year or so I progressed into reception & officially became an assistant by the end of the following year. I have been training through Greene King & with the support of the training team, my manager & area manager I am now applying for Management positions within the company.
"I started my training with the Certificate IV Programme and went onto covering some holiday relief's in various types of pubs and hotels this was great as it opened up a whole new way of doing things and how different each pub and hotel is. I then went on to a career development day where I was assessed on my skills & the feedback from this was really good as it gave me target areas to improve on.
"Following on from the Career Development Day I joined the Greene King Academy starting with Diploma 1 which was to ascertain more skills and gave me more of an insight to a management role and what is entailed back office wise it also gave me an opportunity try things out whilst I am at work that I wouldn't normally do! I am currently on the Diploma 2 and applying for management positions within the company I hope to be running my own successful pub or hotel with the company in the near future.
"The training programme that Greene King provide for you to climb the career ladder has been fantastic and I have to say that everybody is really supportive and honest with you and with this kind of support infrastructure in place it makes you more ambitious and want to run a successful business which I intend to be doing very soon."
